ReSet Medical Spa Acne Treatment Guide: Your Path to Clearer Skin
Acne can be a persistent and frustrating condition, but advances in med spa treatments offer effective solutions for managing and reducing breakouts. Understanding your options can help you make informed decisions about your acne treatment plan.
Glycolic Peel/Facial
A client and esthetician favorite is our signature ‘Go n Glow’ – zero downtime glycolic peel/facial.
Recommended in a series of six treatments spaced 1 week a part – the Go n Glow resurfaces, unclogs pores, removes dead skin cells and stimulates new skin growth – without the downtime and peeling that comes with traditional peels. After the six-week series is completed, we recommend following up with additional treatments once a month to maintain your results.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outer layers. This process helps to unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, and stimulate new skin growth. But, it does come with some down time as the epidermis (top layers) of skin will peel off. Aftercare with medical grade post-treatment products are a must!
Benefits:
- Reduces acne and acne scars
- Improves skin texture and tone
- Minimizes the appearance of pores
Before Your Peel:
It’s also vital that you’re on a medical grade skincare system at home before committing to a chemical peel. A consultation with our estheticians is a must prior to performing chemical peels, especially on new to us clients.
IPL Laser Therapy
Our IPL Laser Acne Treatment involves focusing intense-pulsed light to target and reduce acne-causing bacteria, shrink oil glands, and promote collagen production.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing
This treatment treats acne scars by promoting collagen production and skin resurfacing.
- Benefits of IPL and/or Fractional Laser Resurfacing:
- Effective for active acne and acne scars
- Minimal downtime
- Long-lasting results with multiple sessions
*** Some treatments may cause temporary redness or swelling. Sunscreen use is essential after laser therapy to protect the skin.
Microneedling
Microneedling involves using a (Skinpen) device with fine needles to create tiny micro-channels in the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process and boosts collagen production. While there are many benefits, including: the reduction of acne scars and hyperpigmentation, the improvement of skin texture and firmness and the increased absorption of topical treatments
Probably our favorite and most effective treatment is the Opus Plasma (fractional laser) because it provides better results with less downtime and incorporates a plasma resurfacing with Radiofrequency (RF) Therapy
RF therapy uses radiofrequency energy to heat the skin, stimulating collagen production and reducing acne scars.
Benefits:
- Improves skin texture and elasticity
- Reduces acne scars and wrinkles
- Non-invasive with minimal downtime
- Medical Grade Facials
Medical grade facials are customized treatments performed by our licensed estheticians, tailored to address specific skin concerns, including acne – with medical grade products that provide real results. Regular facials can help maintain clear skin. Discuss your skin type and concerns with your aesthetician to ensure the best results.
Benefits:
- Deep cleansing and exfoliation
- Customized to individual skin needs
- Combines various techniques like extractions, masks, and serums
Choosing the Right Treatment
Selecting the right treatment depends on the severity of your acne, skin type, and personal preferences. Consulting with our esthetics team of professionals is crucial to developing a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs.
Are there treatments we don’t recommend for acne?
Of course.
We’re actually going to ruffle some feathers with this one. Hydrafacials are one of the hottest “trends” on the market right now BUT…these treatments are actually not all that great for your skin. The “results” (the dead skin cells, etc. afterwards) may be satisfying but the suction used on the skin can cause long term loss of elasticity and sagging skin. We do not offer hydrafacials and recommend against it.
