A minimally invasive procedure for your skin to help produce more collagen and elastin.
Pricing starts at: $299
Microneedling is a medical-grade aesthetic procedure that involves using the Skin Pen device with fine needles to create tiny, controlled punctures (micro-injuries) in the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process, which includes the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for maintaining the skin’s youthful appearance and elasticity.
This treatment can not only be performed on the face but can be safely performed on the neck area AND hands as well!
As with each skincare treatment, if you have not already had a skincare consult – we’ll complete a thorough evaluation of you skin’s condition and make sure that microneedling is the right fit for you.
From there you can expect the following:
Cleansing: The skin is cleansed and prepared to ensure it’s free from makeup, dirt, and oils.
Numbing: A topical numbing cream will be applied to minimize discomfort.
Microneedling with SkinPen begins.
Application of serums or topical treatments: After microneedling, topical serums or growth factors are applied to the skin. The microchannels created by the needles allow for better absorption of these products.
Simply put, PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma – takes your treatment to the next level and provides better results and less downtime.
Platelet Rich Plasma is a substance that is derived from your own blood. It contains a high concentration of platelets, which are blood cells that play a crucial role in the body’s healing process. PRP is created by taking a small amount of your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. Then it’s applied to your skin allowing the PRP to penetrate the small pin-pricks made during microneedling. It’s also applied after the treatment and messaged in.
Recovery time is decreased, redness and swelling post treatment is lessened, and results are increased!
Results from SkinPen:
It’s always best to have a skincare consult prior to scheduling your microneedling appointment. In some cases, our estheticians may provide pre-treatment instructions including using (or avoiding) specific skincare products.
Have realistic expectations: Understand that microneedling is not a one-time solution, and it may take multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. Expect gradual improvements in your skin’s appearance.
Recovery time: Microneedling can cause redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, which usually subside within a few days. Plan your schedule accordingly, and consider taking time off work or social engagements if you want to avoid potential downtime.
Post-care instructions: Your practitioner will provide post-care instructions, which often include avoiding direct sunlight, using gentle skincare products, and refraining from certain activities that can irritate the skin. Follow these instructions to optimize your results and minimize the risk of complications.
Potential side effects: Microneedling is generally safe, but it can lead to side effects such as redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, and skin sensitivity. More serious side effects are rare but can include infection or scarring.
Skincare products and sun protection: After microneedling, you should avoid using harsh skincare products for a few days and protect your skin from direct sunlight. Sunscreen is crucial to prevent skin damage and maintain your results.
Your practitioner will advise you on the appropriate timing and spacing of microneedling sessions. This may vary depending on your specific needs and the depth of treatment.
