What is ALMA Opus Plasma Skin Resurfacing?
The Opus is an ablative radiofrequency resurfacing laser used to improve the texture, tone, and appearance of the skin. Laser skin resurfacing is a nonsurgical technique that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production and is addresses a variety of skin issues, including eye, neck and oral wrinkles, facial fine lines, age spots, scars, sun damage, and uneven skin tone.

What to expect during an Opus Plasma Treatment?
A topical anesthetic is applied to the target area to minimize discomfort during the session. The topical anesthetic stays on the skin for 30-60 minutes. Once the skin is numb, we glide the Opus Plasma handpiece across the skin to emit the radiofrequency and plasma energy. Once the procedure is finished, we apply a protective balm. Patients usually notice some slight redness and swelling after the treatment, but it resolves on its own within 24 to 48 hours in most cases. More aggressive treatment settings can extend the downtime. Even though most patients see results after a single treatment, we recommends 3 treatment sessions for optimal results.
What do I need to know after an Opus Plasma Treatment?
Meticulous wound care is crucial after skin resurfacing and begins before you even leave the office.
- Immediately after treatment we will apply a cool compresses and Barrier Restoring Cream
- Use the reccomended skincare for the next 30 days, including medical grade sunscreen
- Use a medical grade sunscreen daily
- Discontinue Retin-A®, acidic or irritating products, etc. until day 7.
- Once the ablative areas have pixelated over make-up (typically between 24-48 hours) can be applied to minimize pixel appearance.
